Casual Intern: Psychological Assistant – Self-Lead Psychology Student (4th Year)


Role Title: Intern: Psychology–HR Integration for Intern-Led Projects
Location: Remote and/or Brisbane-based (flexible)
Commitment: 4–10 hours per month
Rate: $40 per hour - negotiable based on experience (inclusive of tax and superannuation)
Start Date: Negotiable
Reports To: Director & Clinical Lead, Ultivate Psychological Health

Our internship model is designed for self-led, thoughtful students who want to make a real-world contribution, developing projects that support psychological health in workplaces and emerging professional communities.

Role Purpose

This internship invites a 4th year psychology student, with HR training or interest, to help co-develop and support intern-led projects at Ultivate. This role merges human resources thinking with psychological science to create rich, ethical, and future-forward developmental pathways for both interns and professionals.

This is a values-based, human-first opportunity for students who are ready to lead small, meaningful projects, while receiving mentorship and contributing to something bigger.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support & Coordination

  • Assist the director and clinical lead in coordinating and documenting client intake procedures and intern-led project milestones and enriched psychosocial journeys.

  • Apply human resource principles to develop client and team onboarding, role design, and reflective culture tools

  • Support meeting agendas, progress tracking, and shared learning pathways

Psychology–HR Integration

  • Translate psychological science into team wellbeing and work design strategies

  • Help embed psychological safety, values-based leadership, and intern contribution frameworks

  • Co-develop evaluation tools for intern experience, reflection, and growth

Communication & Contribution

  • Attend a monthly planning session (remote)

  • Bring a curious, proactive, and reflective lens to every contribution

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required:

  • Currently completing 4th Year Psychology (Honours or equivalent)

  • Formal training or coursework in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or related field

  • Clear written communication and reflective self-leadership skills

  • Interest in professional development, team culture, or intern learning ecosystems

  • Availability for 4–10 hours per month (including meetings and independent work)

Preferred:

  • Experience with Canva, Zanda, Wix, Google Drive, or similar tools

  • Interest in startup culture, mental health innovation, or psychological enrichment

  • Willingness to co-create templates, documents, or support systems with real-world impact
