About the Role

The Psychological Health Assistant plays a pivotal supporting role within Ultivate’s research-driven psychological health environment. This position assists in the administrational, operational, clinical, community and research components of Ultivate’s programs, events, and consulting services while developing the foundational competencies required for future provisional registration as a psychologist.

Working closely with the Principal Psychologist and multidisciplinary team, the role bridges academic learning with practical application. It supports the delivery of clinical documentation, psychometric processes, leadership and vocational psychology initiatives, and emerging research in flourishing and enrichment science.

The assistant contributes to the smooth running of Ultivate’s psychological operations by maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, ethics, and client/team experience. They become immersed in evidence-based psychological methods and organisational systems, with structured opportunities to develop reflective practice, professional identity, and innovation psychology competencies.

This role is specifically crafted for students who want more than a casual job, those who are ready to step into a developmental position that grows into a meaningful career trajectory. Successful candidates will gain exposure to clinical and non-clinical systems, enriched psychological expereinces, applied psychometric methods, and interdisciplinary innovation projects, positioning them to continue with Ultivate as a Provisional Psychologist upon graduation.

About the Candidate


The successful candidate is a motivated psychology student who is eager to apply theoretical knowledge within a real-world, evidence-based professional environment. They are currently enrolled in a Brisbane-based university, specifically QUT or UQand reside within commuting distance of Brisbane CBD.


They demonstrate emerging professional identity, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine commitment to the science–practitioner model. Their interests align with Ultivate’s focus on psychometrics, vocational health psychology, neuroscience, leadership psychology, and clinical methods. They are detail-oriented, organised, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.


The ideal candidate is not simply seeking a casual role (8 hours per month - negotioable), they are intentionally pursuing a career trajectory that leads to provisional registration, clinical practice, and research involvement. They see Ultivate as a professional space where they can grow their skills, contribute to innovation in psychological health, and participate in shaping future models of enriched professional practice.

Preference will be given to candidates who:


  • Are based in Brisbane and enrolled in psychology at QUT, UQ, or Griffith

  • Aspire to become registered psychologists and contribute to applied research and innovation

  • Possess impeccable attention to detail and strong written communication skills

  • Show emerging passion for flourishing, enrichment psychology, or innovation science

  • Display consistent self-care practices that support healthy boundaries, reflective functioning, and personal wellbeing

  • Are willing to commit to a developmental role that evolves into a future clinician position at Ultivate

Academic Progress & Commitment to Psychology:

  • Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a psychology degree in Brisbane

  • Demonstrated academic achievement and engagement with empirical, evidence-based practice


Attention to Detail and Professional Standards:

  • Proven ability to maintain meticulous documentation, willingness follow cadministrationla, operational, clinical and/or academic protocols, and uphold accuracy in written, digital, and data-based tasks

  • Interest in Applied Psychological Science

    • Strong demonstrated interest in psychometrics, vocational health psychology, clinical methods, neuroscience, or leadership psychology


Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Professionalism in interactions with clients, supervisors, and multidisciplinary team members

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity

  • Evidence-Based Thinking and Desire for Increased Reflective Writing Capacity

    • Demonstrated capacity to integrate psychological research, theory, and observation

    • Willingness to engage in continuous reflective practice, receive supervision, and develop a professional psychological profile


Work Ethic, Reliability, and Task Orientation:

  • Capacity to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently where appropriate
