Understanding Which Pathway Is Best for You: Clinical or Non-Clinical
At Ultivate Psychological Health, we recognise that every individual and professional arrives with unique needs. Choosing the right model of care is an important first step, and it must be done with care, transparency, and adherence to professional guidelines.
As a registered provider, Ultivate’s clinical services operate under AHPRA guidelines and codes of ethics, as well as relevant Australian legislative frameworks. This ensures that your care is always safe, ethical, respectful, and within our professional scope of practice.
We also provide non-clinical enrichment programs designed for professional and personal growth. These are distinct from psychological treatment and are delivered with the same ethical commitment to quality, but without the clinical obligations of Medicare or health-fund supported care.
Clinical Programs
Clinical services are evidence-based and delivered by registered psychologists. They are intended for individuals experiencing mental health concerns that impact daily personal, social and professional functioning.
Key Features:
Scope: Anxiety, depression, trauma, stress-related disorders, eating disorders, and emotional dysregulation.
Delivery: One-on-one executive suites or group programs, each session 50 minutes.
Structure: Minimum of 10 sessions, ensuring treatment is consistent, measurable, and therapeutically safe.
Funding: Supported by Medicare rebates and private health insurance (where applicable).
Governance: Delivered in accordance with AHPRA professional standards, APS Code of Ethics, and Australian privacy and health record legislation.
Non-Clinical Programs
Ultivate’s non-clinical services are designed to enrich, educate, and enhance professional performance. They are not clinical treatment and are not eligible for Medicare or health insurance rebates. Instead, they offer enriching professional experiences and training for those seeking to cultivate flourishing personal, relational and vocational experiences.
Key Features:
Scope: Leadership, innovation, resilience, compassionate conflict resolution, negotiation, stress management, emorional intelligence, creativity, and professional enrichment.
Delivery: One-on-one coaching suites or group programs, workshops and retreats.
Structure: Minimum of 10 sessions, ensuring learning and behaviour change are sustainable.
Funding: Privately funded; positioned as professional development.
Governance: Delivered with the same ethical commitment to safety, respect, and integrity, but not under AHPRA’s clinical treatment scope.
✅ Checklist: Which Pathway Fits You?
Clinical Pathway may be right if you:
Experience persistent anxiety, depression, trauma, or eating-related concerns.
Have a GP referral or wish to access Medicare/private health rebates.
Require evidence-based psychological treatment in line with professional standards.
Need structured support for psychological wellbeing.
Non-Clinical Pathway may be right if you:
Are generally well but want to enhance leadership, creativity, or stress management.
Seek growth through coaching, workshops, or enriched professional development.
Want to engage in learning experiences that complement, but do not replace, clinical treatment.
Value community and group learning environments.
Complimentary Consultation with the Principal Psychologist
To ensure you are matched ethically and effectively, we offer a complimentary consultation with Ultivate’s Principal Psychologist, Andy Solange.
This session is not treatment. Instead, it provides:
A private, confidential space to outline your needs.
Guidance on whether a clinical or non-clinical program is appropriate.
Alignment with the most suitable clinician or enrichment specialist.
Clear explanation of your rights, responsibilities, and available funding options.
This process reflects Ultivate’s commitment to informed consent, client safety, and ethical practice.
🌟 Enriched Professional Development Workshops
Ultivate also offers workshops for professionals and teams. These are designed to enhance wellbeing, leadership, and innovation within an ethical and psychologically informed framework.
Workshops are educational, not treatment, and therefore fall outside AHPRA’s clinical scope.
They are designed with research-based psychological principles and strategies to enrich workplace culture and professional identity.
Each workshop emphasises enrichment, ethical learning, and logical application of psychological science.
Our Ethical Commitment
Ultivate adheres to the APS Code of Ethics and AHPRA guidelines at all times.
We respect professional boundaries between treatment and enrichment.
We provide clear information about funding eligibility, responsibilities, and limits.
We uphold confidentiality, informed consent, and client autonomy as central to all programs.
👉 Next Step: Book your complimentary consultation today to find the right pathway — clinical or non-clinical — and begin a journey that is enriching, ethical, and aligned with your personal and professional aspirations.
